Percussion is actually a family of instruments. At Milton-Union, percussion students will eventually play all of the percussion instruments. To begin, all students will play bells. This mallet instrument is a much smaller version of the marimba in the video.

After students learn bells, they continue to explore more mallet instruments and begin to learn to play snare drum, bass drum, and cymbals. They will eventually learn timpani, triangle, and many other percussion instruments, even the drum set!

Students will only need the bell/snare kit. Other instruments are borrowed and played at the school.
