The Jazz Band is made up of high school students and focuses on learning the many nuances of jazz. These students perform at three concerts each year as well as many run-out concerts throughout the school and community.

 

This ensemble gives students a fantastic opportunity to develop their musicianship in a different direction than that of the traditional concert band. Jazz Band also allows for unique soloing experiencing to develop improvisation skills. Students have the opportunity to play secondary instruments.

The Red Heat Combo consists of nearly all students who participate in Jazz Band. This ensemble is the stage band for the Center Stage Show Choir. These students rehearse during class as well as after school to prepare for the Show Choir Competition. Both the Center Stage Show Choir and Red Heat Combo are award winning ensembles.
