8th Grade Band is the advanced Middle School Band. These students have surpassed the basics. This year is intended to complete the bridge to transition into the High School Band. Students will be focusing on advanced techniques and musical concepts to continue to hone their art.

 

The 8th Grade Band performs at three concerts over the course of the year. Each of these concerts involve band members of all grade levels. Each concert experience is a different format.

As an 8th Grade Band member, students have additional performance opportunities. These students will get to perform at a football game with the Milton-Union Band of Pride. Students will perform in the stands throughout the game and march on the field at halftime. During the winter, these students are also invited to perform at basketball games with the Pep Band.

8th Grade Band members also have the opportunity to show their advanced musicianship at the Middle School Solo and Ensemble event. 7th and 8th grade students from a 5 county area perform for a judge. They receive comments and a rating based on that performance. This is an opportunity for individuals and small groups to show their advanced level of musicianship on the performance stage.
